"We both grew up in farming families, with four and five generations of Western New York farmers before us.
"A farmer is a very independent person who wants to accomplish something, to see if he or she can grow the best crop they can grow, to watch something you have started and take it all the way through to the end. We like being our own bosses and working outdoors.
"Farming is its own way of life, a totally different way of life than going into the city and working for someone else. It's about the independence and the goal of seeing if you can make it all the way. That drive and that passion is what it is all about.
"Farming is something that has to be inside of you, it has to be a part of you, because it is a hard way of life. It can be very, very rewarding and it can be very devastating at times. Sometimes it can tear the guts out of the inside of you, but it all works out.
"Our farm has become a place for the town to come, to meet, and to have fun doing various activities we sponsor. We like being a part of the community, seeing the ball teams come in after games, the pleasure when we see kids on our playground.
"There are people who used to come here when they were in high school, their pictures are all on the wall. They went off to college, and now they are back settling down in this area. Now they are coming in with their kids, their kids are off playing and they're sitting in here talking and visiting. It's wonderful to know you're a part of the community that way.
"We have stayed on the smaller side because we are in a smaller town and we want to be able to provide very personal service and to be more easy going. With the market here at Partyka, we try to offer a nice variety of products people are interested in but we don't want it to become cluttered with too many commercial things. We want to keep it more basic, more personal."

We are an IPM farm (Integrated Pest Management): we use good bugs to handle bad bugs, we do fly counts, and we have private consultants who check our orchards and our fields.
We try to pick everything fresh on market days or the night before so that when we go to market everything is fresh and coming right from the fields and orchards. We make sure to sort our product so our customers get top rate produce, or if it is a second it is clearly labelled as such. That way, our customers know what they are buying.
Inside our on-site store, choose from a great selection of local homemade baked goods, jams, jellies, and baking mixes or order something sizzling hot off the grill. While you're here, enjoy a Perry's ice cream or custard while you sit in the sun and listen to the sounds of happy children playing or birds singing in the peaceful, country environment.
Be sure to try a bag of our trademark hull-less dry tumble roasted pumpkin seeds.
